Nighttime had already approached. Stars sparked brightly through the timber trees. Needles from the trees crunched underfoot, cold amber eyes flickered darkly from somewhere ahead. Thick sap seeped, ever so slowly, out of slash marks imposed onto a tree trunk. Thick, scaly bark lay torn in shreds at the base of the wounded pine. What had happened here?
A thin, glossy-furred lynx came into view. Her pelt and self-assurance marked her Amour. Her large claws were tipped with a sticky substance, and she dug them into the ground worth something fierce. Passion and hate clung to her fur like a burr, refusing to dislodge itself. But why? She could list the reasons. One, there were no decent males around. Two, she needed a good 'fling'. Third, a female has just ridiculed her. No wonder a few trees were being ripped apart.
The starlight didn't even reach her cold eyes. Life was unfair. Life was worthless. That female's life was worthless. Amour would steal her male away if the great ugly female had had one. She jumped up with a rage, ripping her claws through yet another tree. One of her claws got stuck and part of it tore off. But she didn't care. What could she do? No. She could do anything she wanted to do. What should she do?
"[Large swear word here]" Amour growled into the still night. She wanted to KILL. To fight, to harm, to hurt.

A small, smiling lynx slowly trotted through the Timber Forest. This was hers. Everything in the East Side of Horizon Mountains was hers. All hers. She smirked, and then smelt the air, a growl breaking through. Usually she wasn't like this, but, she had a new commitment, right now. Akita came a little closer.
Did you know that you are trespassing on my territory, madame? If you wouldn't mind, I would like a reason for being here, she murmured gently as she padded closer. No smile was on her maw anymore. Of course, Akita did not want to get hurt, so she stayed quiet after this, until she could not stand the silence.
I mean no harm, and I do not want to get hurt. I just need to know. This place is mine. Though, if you would like to join me, youa re very welcme too. Akita's smile re-appeared. This would be good. Maybe this lynx would want to be her friend! She saw that a lot of her trees were ripped apart. Oh no she didn't. Akita narrowed her black eyes. Oh, please don't let this have to come to a fight!

The quite sense of aloneness around the vexed lynx was disturbed by a string of words from another female. The starts hid behind a cover of clouds, particularly aware of how this would most likely end. Tension sprang up like a cat on the chase of her prey, seeping its taste into everything else. The pine needles crackled uncertainly - they did not want to be underfoot right now. The soil most likely felt the same.
Amour whipped around, her eyes blazing with a fire fed by anger. "Trespassing?" Her voice was strangely quiet, yet tainted with a bitter cold tone. "And who made you queen of the forest?" Scorn tore the words apart, sending bits and pieces into the night. The angered she-cat stared at the interrupter, her gaze dumbfounded. A reason? Amour never needs a reason to be anywhere. These thought hit the front of her mind like a bird into a tree trunk.
"I see. You don't want to get hurt... Fine." Amour smiled coldly. "Well. Do you have a mate?" She sat down, a look of welcoming painted on. She had always been good at feigning. "A family? I don't. I usually stay on my own. But maybe companionship would be good for me." She smiled once again, this time with a smile of earnestly. "I haven't seen much of this forest, either. Maybe you could help a female out." ... Dog.

Akita narrowed her eyes at the words the female spat at her. And then, she asked something else. Oh, so she wished.
I-I do not. I wish I could, though. There is no one out there for me. A small, brief sigh escaped her maw, as she looked up. I'm all for favors, madame. May I know of your name?
Well, maybe Akita did not want her in her ranks. But, then again.... This one looked quite strong. She could be good for fighing and what such. Maybe, head guard, or maybe more? Wow, she was thinking a lot that night. Akita raised her head, and bit her lip gently, still thinking. Would this female join? Would this female try and take over her land? If so, would this female make Akita leave? Would this, this. Would this, that. It was all getting old.
And, once again, my pack is open to you. Feel welcome to come and go as you need, if you decide not to join. Those words were all throughly true. That female was welcome at anytime.

Goodness. This feline was gullible. But she had nothing to offer to this loner. No mate, no true life. The life of a group was in Amour's past, and nowhere in her future. And even as she sat there, her calm returned slightly, pulling back the anger gently, as if it might come back with a lashing ferocity. The other requested her name. Now, usually it was not given out usually the question was ignored. But this cat seemed like no direct threat, and she seemed to timid to taunt.
"I am Amour," she said confidently. "But that is for you, and you alone, to know. Got it?" She licked a sappy paw, tasting the bitter and slightly sweet residue. "And let me just warn you. I am being nice. I do not join groups, I rarely respect boundaries. I am myself, and I will treat others accordingly." There. The only warning she would give. This cat seemed innocent enough, not too over-confident to be ridiculing Amour. She would be fine, for now.
"May I ask your name?"
