...Spend all your time waiting for that second chance For the break that will make it ok... Tawny mitts struck the uneven surface silently as the femme made her away across the rocks and boulders that jutted out from the earth. She was as mute as the shadow that followed and mimicked her every move; barely noticeable among the cliffs.
Harks were pricked, ready to capture any sound. Soft blue orbs wandered around the females surroundings, observing and registering the placement of everything to ensure the safety of herself. After all, the ground would sometimes plummet suddenly, and any cougar not focusing would fall to their death on the foggy abyss below. Either that or a dunk in the rapid waters that raced over the rocks into the gorge below. Both would result in a painful death...and Heather wasn't planning to commit suicide, as sad as she was.
After a moment of graceful bounds and leaps over the rocks the cougar had reached her destination- the calmest part of the river. Here, fish drifted along, and the current wasn't strong enough to pull you down. The murky water only reached up to Heather's flanks, too, so she waded in cautiously, careful not to disturb the pond too much and frighten the fish.
Now to wait. The fae remained stock-still, jewels trained on the water that lapped at her sides hungrily. Jaws were slightly parted, ready to snatch any fish that would swim by. One paw was raised, claws unsheathed, ready to strike a victim. As the sun dimly touched them they glowed silver; deadly weapons of death.
Her patience was good, and it wasn't wasted. An unsuspecting fish soon floated by, totally unaware of Heather's presence, resulting in it's quick termination.
A swift paw quickly reached out and hooked the fish into its claws as the creature struggled desperately for it's life. it was no use though, for Heather quickly finished the fish with a sharp bite to the spine. The slippery body quickly grew limp under her jaws as the life ebbed away. A smirk grew on her face, and she sprang over to a flat surface to enjoy her meal.
The sun smiled at her from the sky, casting warm, golden rays upon her disorderly fur. The heat felt great, and she paused a moment, sucking up all the warmth the sun offered her. Maybe today won't be such a bad day after all.

Kiego Life's too sweet. The heated rays of sunlight beat down on the forest floor, warming the soft sod underfoot and basking the dew-wet blades of grass that protruded from the rocky terrain in their celestial gleam. The wind blew modestly, ruffling the leaves on the trees and stirring the water humbly, making the calmest portion of the river have harder waves than usual. The water lapped at the banks on either side and the liquid caught the light, making a sort of blue glow emanate off of it. Everything was quiet. The only noise audible was the shrill squeaks of a mouse, venturing out of its home and then the harsh shriek of a large bird as it swooped down and carried the little being away, murdering it swiftly in its beak.
The atmosphere seemed calm and with less acute senses, one might think the mountain greenery was desolate, lacking much life at all. But they, of course, would be wrong. For one soul marched through the shaded woodland, rocking his head left to right, waggling his haunches playfully as if the leap into the serene air. The beige creature's face was masked with delight and the beast on the end of his tail seemed to share the same happiness. But... wait. With closer inspection, one would see the brown lump strapped to the animal's tail with blue fabric was not a living thing at all. In fact, it was a child's toy! Yes, a dark brown little teddy bear swayed back and forth as the being moved, its plastic eyes staring blandly into space as if troubled by some knowledge it seemed to possess. And oh, it was dirty. Stains of mud dappled its fur, bright green grass marks hinting them as well. It was queer. Why did this feline, for it seemed to be a cougar, possess a... toy?
Whether the mountain lion thought it to be strange or not was indeterminable. He simply skipped onward, blissful expression full of hope and merriment. After a moment or two of this odd behavior, the cat stopped, his paws skidding on the cold, new-fallen leaves. He raised his snout upward, scenting the air with a cognizant nose. And as soon as his head was completely facing the sky, it was down again, a inquisitive look gracing his features. The large beast lashed his tail, the bear all but sliding off the grimy appendage. His head tilted to the side instinctively, and without a word, he began to pad toward the aroma, careful to let the pine trees brush against his fur and mask his unique smell with a more verdant, unnoticeable fragrance.
As he veered to the left, for he had been traveling in a straight line between the narrow strip of land behind the liquid and the actual body of water, he looked down at his bear, dangling on his tail behind him and said, "It's a cougar. Who ya think? En't smelled this scent a'fore, I don't think." His voice was rough and unedjucated. In all meanings of the word, he sounded illiterate. But what was more, he had talked to the inanimate object, hadn't he? The bear spoke quietly back. "Yeah, Mr. Bear. I know there's lots of people I dunno, too. Maybe it's a loner, though! I should run 'em out I think." Mr. Bear responded tonelessly. "Yeah, I s'pose I don't know if it's a rogue cat yet. Let's see." And with that, the cougar swung his inert friend onto his back, letting the two straps fall to his sides and balancing the stuffed creature evenly.
One moment and he cleared the distance between the lush region and the bare river. His paws ached as he traversed from the spongey dirt to the jagged river peddles, making him grind his teeth in annoyance. But once he could view the entire scene, he felt his irritation ebb away. Curiosity overwhelmed him as he saw the she-cat on the riverside, enjoying her meal of fish. He arched a brow upward, for she did not seem like a loner. Part of him was relieved about this, and part of him was saddened. He'd wanted to fight a loner. Oh, how fun! But seeing it was impossible, he gave a reluctant shake of his head and padded toward the female quietly. When he was not a yard from her, he called out, "'Allo, miss. How are you this fine day?"

...There's always some reason to feel “not good enough"? And it's hard at the end of the day ...
Ears flicked up as the sound of a voice murmured among the gentle breeze. Heather had dozed off, and the sound had caught her off guard. Dial lifted, and Heather's eyes quickly scanned her surroundings wearily, searching for the owner of the sound.
Her head suddenly jerked sideways as the vocalization was heard again, this time closer. Heather felt her muscles begin to stiffen, adrenaline coursing through her veins. They rippled neatly under her fur, preparing the mountain lioness for whatever it took for her to be safe. She was about to rise when another tawny form like herself emerged from the rocks and bracken.
At first she was surprised, and she jumped a little, but quickly relaxed, allowing her fur to flatten on her shoulder blades. But then something else startled her..what was that creature on his back? Harks rose from their lowered position, and azure jewels focused on the male before her. "Hello...and Good, thank you. And you?" She rumbled softly, stifling a yawn, and added, "My calling's Heather. May I ask of yours, sir?"
Feathery tail wrapped itself around her lean set forelegs, curling slightly at the tip as she waited for the male's reply. Her eyes returned to that same spot on his back though, where the brown figure lay. It was speckled with many other colors, some green, brown, and even orange. Her head cocked a little as she stared at it, straining not to ask the other cougar what it was.
...I need some distraction, oh beautiful release Memories seep from my veins They may be empty and weightless, and maybe I'll find some peace tonight ...

Kiego -How do you do, Mr. Bear?- His bright blue spectacles stared forth restlessly, a meddling concern and interest making them almost glow. Mr. Bear watched, too, his plastic bead eyes almost full of the same regard. It was odd, the two of them. They seemed to share the same intellect, the same spark of depth that stirred the souls of most living creatures. Though Mr. Bear was dull and lifeless, he was the cougar's best friend. The young male didn't like to get involved with others of his race. It always ended in pain. Mr. Bear was all he needed. The small stuffed beast helped him when his nightmares made him awake screaming, like a child cradling their toy close to their breast, scared but knowing or at least hoping that their comforting teddy bear would protect them.
For a flicker of a moment, the young mane-less lion's thoughts strayed to his dreams, his night-ghasts. Water lapping at his paws, leaking in from the mud roof above. The youthful version of himself cried out, "Help! Help!" Paws lashed at the mud, trying to break through, trying to get out of this trap that he'd forged for himself. And the water was growing higher, reaching up the length of his legs. "Someone!" His screams echoed in the barren place as he felt the dreaded murk elevate. In a matter of minutes, the water was to his neck, and he had to crane back his head to keep his maw above. "I'm drowning!" He thrashed and kicked but that only made more mud splatter down on his head, pushing him under for a fraction of a second. "Gah!" he sputtered, now paddling to simply keep his mouth from going under. He gasped for oxygen. Then he was completely under, completely submerged. He couldn't breathe; his lungs would burst. And unconsciousness leaked into the old version of himself as consciousness made him spring out of his dream. He'd woken up, gasping, crying, holding onto Mr. Bear for dear life...
"Hello...and good, thank you. And you?"
The sudden articulation shocked him from his reverie, and his gaze jolted upward to burn metaphoric holes into the she-cat. One ear swiveled back instinctively, and he straightened his stance, Mr. Bear rocking on his back seamlessly. One paw came up to wipe at the left side of his face as he thought. How was he? Was he frightened because of the dream? Was he happy because of the nice day? Was he relieved because she didn't seem like a rogue? Or was he simply angry because he didn't get to fight a loner? Important questions! An euphoric gleam of serenity infested his expression and he gave a quirky smile, thinking it best not to consult Mr. Bear for the answer to the query the female had laid before him. After a minute he spoke, "Hm... well, I guess I really dunno. How am I...? Well, I s'pose I'm loads of different stuff. I'm happy, I'm sad, I'm frightened, I'm angry. I'm confused, too. As to what? Well, as to how you could answer that question so swiftly while I find it complex." He tilted his head to the side. " An' that gets me a-thinkin'. It makes me think you didn't tell me the truth. It makes me think you're feelin' different stuff than what you said."
"My calling's Heather. May I ask of yours, sir?"
Mr. Bear slipped a little off the male's back and he had to whip round lightning-fast to catch him. By doing this, it exposed the little bear more so. He carefully held the thing between his jagged teeth and placed it delicately back on his spine where it belonged. Now stay there, he thought silently before returning his gaze to the waiting feline before him. She'd asked him a question, hadn't she? His tail lashed at once. This was also an elaborate question for Kiego. Who was he? He was a cougar, sure. And he was dubbed Kiego, yes. But who was he? That required more information then just a name and a species. It required the knowledge of his very essence. Kiego had not yet acquired that intellect yet. And it would not be until he was very old that he would. "Who'm I?" he asked himself, giving her an incredulous look. "Well, I could be anything. I could be the whisper of the wind, the splatter of the rain, the cry of the hawks! You could be anything, too. I, for one, know I'm not just Kiego of The Black Lark. Nope. I'm what I want to be. Are you what you want to be, Heather? Huh, the name sounds like a plant. Do you wanna be a plant?" he let his words settle for a second. "No, 'course ya don't. You wanna be a sparrow. You wanna fly! Or maybe you wanna be a wave. In those waters. A quiet rapid. Sure, they die fast! But you get to live the ride!" He took a step forth. "Nope, I dunno who I am. And neither do you. You're certainly not Heather, though. Trust me, you're more than Heather." He laughed. Who was this she-cat? So funny. She thought she knew who she was.

h.eather...In the arms of an Angel, fly away from here ...Heather felt herself stiffen. Was she that obvious?
"Well..you're right. I'm not that good.." Heather looked away, squeezing her eyes shut so the memories wouldn't come back to terrorize her. She didn't want to watch and live through the scene again...her mother somersaulting through the air...crimson blood staining the grass..siblings running for their life..getting shot...
Heather realized this conversation wasn't going to be as pleasant as she had hoped. The male seemed to see right through her, as if she were merely a transparent spirit explaining her problems and worries. The butterflies in her stomach started to fly around rapidly, nervously rattling her brain.
As "Kiego" continued, she felt her pelt prickle with unease, a baffled expression spread across her facial features. The words he had spoke...they had pierced deep into her, and she read them over in her mind. He's righ...who am I? A PLANT?! Her ears flattened a little, but rose again after she carefully thought over what he had said.
"Heather is my calling; what people say when they want my attention. Other than that, I wouldn't have a clue of who I am." She replied softly, lips rising into a faint smile. His laughter even made her a little happier. "And tell me, "Kiego", how would someone find out who they are, then?" Gentle eyes looked at the sky for a moment before resting back on Kiego again, orbs calm and relaxed.

Kiego -Plants need love, too.- Calmness found the cougar's spine, slowly calming it, for it was slightly arched as it usually was when he found a new person to talk to. But of course, that didn't happen too often. This feeling ebbed its way through his toned body, working down the spine and through his limbs and down the very tip of his tail. It flowed to his face which gently settled into a bland face of disinterest. It also seemed to sweep into Mr. Bear, the little lump becoming less noticeable on the feline's back and almost blending in. The male rolled onto his haunched and wrapped a long, narrow tail around his paws neatly, making him seem just like Mr. Bear. A toy. An inanimate object. That's all he could be really. How could someone so happy with himself and his life exist in such a painful world? Was it possible? It seemed people tried mimic what they wanted to feel on toys. Like on the grand smile that plastered the Mr. Bear's maw, the little glow he seemed to give off despite the mud and clumps of grass. Perhaps the world would be a better place if we were all toys, thought Kiego blankly. Presently, he gave a yawn, ears flat on the sides of his head.
A gust of gelid wind blew through the area, soothing the mountain lion's sore muscles, for he had been walking for some time, and ruffling the teddy bear's soiled fur. As it did so the stuffed toy seemed to hold tighter onto its person, blue straps dangling from the cougar's sides. It was an odd thing to see, really. But it comforted Kiego. Knowing that Mr. Bear would always be there. The apparatus had helped him to realize he didn't need living things to love and cherish as he had before the storm. It only brought agony when they dropped like little flies out of the sky to splatter to the ground unfeelingly. Oh, the anguish he had felt when he found out his mother and father had died. His creators! He'd adored them. Adored them with all his pathetic heart. And in return, they'd loved him as well. Then, swoosh. They'd been cruelly taken away by the waters while Kiego had nearly died in a hole. Mr. Bear had taken all that away. Because Mr. Bear couldn't die! Mr. Bear would live on even in the worst weather! He wouldn't bleed, he wouldn't be destroyed. He was invincible! And he'd be there forever! He'd never leave him alone!
"Well..you're right. I'm not that good.."
The lion hadn't noticed, but moisture had been gathering in his sky blue eyes, blurring his vision to such a degree that Heather was merely a beige blur among all the gray. He shook his head slowly, not caring if she saw his meager dilemma. He lashed his tail uncomfortably, but hearing her words, he grinned fully. "I was right?" His smile grew wider. "Well, 'Heather', what would you say you feel? Maybe a bit sad? Lonesome? Or cheery? You can feel lots of things at once, you know. It's impossible not to feel, isn't it?" A queer gleam entered his eye, and he propped Mr. Bear higher up his back, making the thiny azoic creature's head peak out from between his ears, plastic eyes probing the she-cat with interest. "Maybe that's out weakness, no?" His canines glowed in the sunlight. "We feel so much... and that makes us vulnerable. To what? Well, to everything. We let so much in, and it hurts us from the inside."
"Heather is my calling; what people say when they want my attention. Other than that, I wouldn't have a clue of who I am. And tell me, "Kiego", how would someone find out who they are, then?"
Kiego's eyes watched for any hint of sarcasm or defiance. He was surprised, even shocked, to see there was only mild interest. Or as far as he could tell. The female wasn't making fun of him. How odd... He flicked one ear, brushing Mr. Bear's fur, consulting him in a inconspicuous fashion. He whispered something into the male's ear. Kiego nodded, as if agreeing with the things the bear had told him. "Well, as sure as the sky's blue, I dunno. Maybe I'll know when I'm a cranky old geezer, making younger cats fetch me some food because I can't get it myself. Or maybe I won't be wise, and will never understand. Everybody else understands who we are. But we can't comprehend it. Maybe we're novices in this great game of life, and maybe we apprehend more than we know." He tilted his head to the side.

h.eath.er
An odd, unfamiliar feeling washed over her rigid frame; it felt good to discuss all your pains with someone. But it also made her feel weak-why am I exposing myself like this?
It must have had something to do with Kiego's eyes...they burned into her, and even the creature on his back seemed to be searching her gaze for the mess of stuff hidden behind it.
"Well, I don't know. I never even knew my father, and my mother was shot down by some cruel hunter, along with my siblings. And it was all my fault. If I would have ran, like she told me to, I could of saved her. But she gave her life to save me." The last few words rolled off her tongue with deep grief and regret obvious in her vocals. Her vision blurred, and she looked away, nose wrinkling as she tried to rid the tears that were about to stream down her soft facade.
When the tears finally disappeared, like the grief that was ebbing off her system, she returned her troubled gaze to him. She chortled at his last statement, a shy smile appearing on her face. "I guess so." She agreed with a small shrug of her skinny shoulders. Somehow, someway, this peculiar male made her happy. For once, she was actually enjoying another's presence. __________________ words- 221 status- open; ative mood- mixture of emotions comments- none

Kiego -Winter's eve and Summer's morn- Wind swirled around, ruffling his pelt, sending each hair swaying like the blades of grass underfoot. They protruded from the ground, tickling his paws delicately. He found himself staring at the ground, his gaze traveling up and down the expanse he stood on. At the beginning, where his feet were planted, the greenery was bunched together. As his gaze crawled onward, all the lush woodland seemed to become less and less until he saw the quiet waves, lapping at the banks. For some odd reason, he longed to wade into that water, cooling his skin until his bones felt brittle and weak. Then he's just float away. He's forget everything. All the tragedy, all the lost souls he had once knew. It would be a paradise, only he would have the key to. It's be wonderful. Amazing.
It took a moment for Kiego to realize that his thoughts had taken a suicidal turn, and he gave a rough shake o his pelt, inhaling the gelid air greedily. Life was too good to justive away. Even if he died right now, he'd be glad. Because it would have been a natural occurance. And he could be proud that he lived the full course of his life. He survived it. He accomplished something... But he was getting ahead of himself. He still had a long way to go before he entered the void. Or at least he thought he did. Nobody could see into the future, and he was no exception. In truth he had no idea what would happen to him. But, yes, he would leave this universe. And no one left it alive, anyhow.
"Well, I don't know. I never even knew my father, and my mother was shot down by some cruel hunter, along with my siblings. And it was all my fault. If I would have ran, like she told me to, I could of saved her. But she gave her life to save me."
His ears swiveled forth at this, cognizantly alert. Hunters? On the island? Perhaps she was speaking of the native's descendants that had once prowled the shores. But surely they had all been killed by now. One could only live so long on an island full of predator felines. And then again, maybe the humans had found a way to the island at last. But of course, Kiego would know nothing about the hunters and poachers from far away that resided in the mainland. Nope. For all he knew, Horizon was the only land in existence. But maybe this she-cat knew more, maybe she had actually seen humans. He felt like inquiring further, but held his tongue. Now was not the time nor place. Plus, Heather seemed to be crumbling into a miserable condition. He watched sadness suffuse her face.
"I guess so."
A bit of the agony that had filled her voice before rolled off her tongue to disappear into oblivion. A spark of happiness entered her gaze, and she shrugged her narrow shoulders in contempt. A broad grin appeared on his muzzle, and he enemieched his whiskers cheerfully. Sky-blue, newborn eyes gleamed, the shards of sunlight that broke through the sparse cover of leaves over him reflecing off of the unusual orbs like icy puzzle pieces. The gentle water gave off an almost inaudible hissing sound that his rounded ears took in with delight. Such a wonderful day. "Don't you wish everyday could be this beautiful? Don't wish you could just bask in the ever-glowing light of the sun ever morning for the rest of eternity? I do."
His grin grew wider if that were possible. He lashed his tail one last time before giving a great yawn. Mr. Bear whispered something into his left ear, and he nodded in agreement. What a fine person to be conversing with. He usually didn't talk to many, but this troubled young female seemed to draw him in. She was possibly the most friendliest feline he's ever met. Possibly... And Mr. Bear agreed.

"Oh, I do. It would be wonderful.." Her voice trailed off as she inhaled deeply, drinking in the soft smells of prey and fresh, crisp water. "But then, there would be no variety..It would be like having a group of felines with the same personality." The words were quiet as she spoke, echoing her thoughts as her gaze wandered across the azure expanse of sky.
Not only that, but she enjoyed the rain, too. It cleansed the world and brought life to every organism, and the soft sound of raindrops pelting against the soggy ground was always peaceful, as if the earth were singing you a little lullaby.
The sun peeked out from the clouds, sending golden rays of light upon Heather's tawny pelt, illuminating it and giving it a glossy appearance. Pleased by her sudden sunbath, she allowed herself to lower to the ground, soaking up extra warmth from the mossy rock beneath her. Eyelids were half-closed, enjoying the heat with a grin.
"So, who's your buddy?" She asked, looking at the brown figure on Keigo's back. "If you don't mind my asking, that is." She was curious about the being on his back..whether it was alive or not, or what. ___________________ words-199 status- open; active mood- relaxed comments- none

Kiego -Golden hair and sky-blue eyes- The sun's dubious rays were piercing their way out of the enemy clouds, sending spiraling shafts of light down on the two beings by the river, making their golden hair turn a rich yellow. And in the yellow light, the male's eyes turned a queer green, faded a bit, as if it was a picture of what would have been his eyes if he had lived differently. His tail flicked back and forth abruptly, not to any sort of beat or tempo. It swung side to side when it wanted to, not by nature or by instinct. It moved when he wanted it to. And he was cognizantly aware of it even when he shouldn't have been. Mr. Bear on his back was still staring at the other feline, his plastic eyes probing her rudely. If the dull little bear could think, he would have thought about how this new 'friend' might tug Kiego away from him. How the young cougar might abandon him thoughtlessly to pursue this new person. He might have thought about how to get rid of her so Kiego would always be his. He might have been more envious then a dull puny bear should ever get. And that might frighten Kiego in the future. How controlling and pivotal his bear was. And how drastically he could affect Kiego's life, even though he couldn't even move. Mr. Bear was a scary, authoritative piece of work that by far did not like this new female, and conspired viciously about how to destroy her friendship with him. How the bear could control him... It wasn't good.
"Oh, I do. It would be wonderful... But then, there would be no variety..It would be like having a group of felines with the same personality."
A spike of adrenaline sent Kiego's hair upright, and Mr. Bear's cold, relentless gaze stared out from within the now prickling fur. She must like the rain... He knew there'd be a problem, if they were ever friends. The rain on the ground. The water touching him. He died a little every stormy day. Like he almost died back in. In that horrible storm... He'd dug a hole for himself, for shelter, but the water had leaked in, quickly sealing his way out. And it had lapped at his legs, traveling up his chest, and seeping into his skin. He'd been drowning, choking under the horrid liquid, the water filling his mouth and making it impossible to breathe. Then finally unconsciousness had hit him, and he was so relieved. He thought he would die and it would all be over. All the pain, all the frightening excitement rushing through his veins. Death was the only way out. But unfortunately he awoke. A cougar, seeking the same type of shelter had began to dig in the exact same spot he had made his shelter. Imagine the young cougar's surprise when he found that that particular piece of earth was hollow and that a body was floating underneath. He carefully pulled Kiego out, and seeing that he was still breathing, brought him to the trees, waiting for him to wake up. Kiego did and he thanked the male gratefully before traveling further back into the forest regions of the mountain. From another cougar, he learned that his parents had died in the storm and that was probably when he went insane. He found Mr. Bear in the lush, verdant woodland after that, the little creature had been caught in the storm and washed up to the shores of Horizon. He told Mr. Bear everything, and gradually the inanimate thing became his best friend. His comforter. Now this 'best friend' was staring at Heather with all the ferocity a nonliving thing could muster.
"So, who's your buddy? If you don't mind my asking, that is."
Mr. Bear growled in Kiego's ear about the change of topic, but the young mountain lion ignored him, listening intently to the female. In fact, he had all but forgotten the little being, and her words blandly reminded him of Mr. Bear. The little creature was fuming by now, wishing that Kiego would stop talking to this fiend. "Oh, this little guy?" Kiego asked as if Mr. Bear was nothing. "Well, he's Mr. Bear. My best buddy." Whether the male knew he looked insane right now, none could tell. He simply smiled sweetly, his face the antithesis of Mr. Bear's deeply frowning one. "I found him a long time ago, and he's been a big help and a great person- er, bear." Mr. Bear shouted something into his ear angrily, but Kiego didn't care. He was in a conversation at last.

Heather felt guilt tug at her heart as she watched Kiego's face cloud, for she knew she had caused the grief that now sharpened his facade. Memories seemed to have seeped back into his mind, for his eyes seemed to by staring past her, into a distant, far away world.
She was relieved she had changed the topic- it hurt her somewhere inside when she saw Kiego dull. But something else arose in her- a curious type of suspicion. Something seemed terribly, sickeningly wrong with the "bear" on Kiego's back. Especially how Kiego interacted with it too, and she felt a cold shiver run down her spine.
But she remained expressionless, with a smile still plastered on her gentle face. "That's cool," she added when Kiego had finished, giving the bear an inquisitive look. She didn't want to ask Kiego too much, so she shut her maw, thinking of something to say. "I've seen a few of those fellas around here." Remembering the stuffed dog her brother had discovered once, and how he had been so scared of the lifeless toy, she stifled a chuckle. ___________________ words-183 status- active mood- curious, calm comments- sorry i'm really tired, not a very good post

[Haha. When I took on Kiego as a character, I had no idea I was taking on two characters. Hm... Mr. Bear could make a nice plot.]
Kiego -The dull piece of life- The plastic eyes of the bear were sickeningly dull, but in a queer way. As if a life sparked between the black buttons which could not be seen on the outside, but grew fiercer and fiercer as the thing experienced new things, growing more attached and envious of its partner, Kiego. And a crazy, insane wanting for flesh, for power. Like the kind Kiego had. Kiego could move, could walk, could fight and talk. And the male cougar was merely a pawn for him now. He used him to get around, to experience life in his own way. He was powerful in his own rights. He could affect the mountain lion drastically, get him to do things without having the ability to talk. But if this female took him away, and Kiego abandoned him, he wouldn't have that strength anymore. He'd be weak once again, and he didn't want that to happen. He'd attack before then. He'd tempt Kiego into murder if he had to, though that was very unlikely. He could avert to others tactics if he had to.
A long purr reverberated through the male, his mood brightened about the change of subject. The thoughts of death and despair leaked out of him instantaneously. His ears flicked once or twice lazily, and another yawn racked him, his tail still seemingly enemieching back and forth. His chest fur prickled involuntarily as the sunlight heated his body, making his senses go on the fritz. His paws fumbled about wearily, and like the female, he let himself roll onto his side, half of his stomach gently pressed to the mossy ground. Mr. Bear, however, not having been attached by his blue straps, fell off Kiego's back, rolling to the ground and onto his side, angry that he'd been forgotten enough for that to happen. The lion quickly snatched him up, placing him on the ground in front of him delicately like he was a newborn cub, so fragile and weak.
"That's cool,"
The female's words made Mr. Bear hiss to Kiego in anger. That? That? He was a he. A he! Or he was a he as far as he was concerned. It was like referring to him as the inanimate object he was. And he didn't like it. Not one bit. Kiego gave a jerk in return to Mr. Bear's soundless rant as if the female could hear it too. As if she would be insulted. And maybe, Mr. Bear thought, she would have been. If she could have any idea what was happening. But of course, there was no way for her to. He could only communicate with the insane Kiego. That was why he valued the queer cougar's friendship so much. That was why he used him as such. Because only Kiego could help him live. Only Kiego could be controlled by a mindless, puny teddy bear, who possessed no power whatsoever to act on its own.
"I've seen a few of those fellas around here."
Kiego lurched up suddenly, and Mr. Bear ended his rant at once, listening intently. Another one of his kind? Where? Where?! Kiego's only intention was to ask that very question, but Mr. Bear stopped him. He told him that they shouldn't look suspicious. It might hurt them in the future. If there was a future. Kiego, being a mindless pawn, acted obediently. "Really?" he said, trying to sound uninterested. "Uh, where would you say you saw this... fella? You know, just out of curiosity." Mr. Bear mentally slapped him, and watched the female with swift button eyes.

Heather shrugged at the question, delicate pools of dark blue eyes glimmering in the sunlight. "I saw some kind of form on the beach one day, and I went closer to investigate. I thought it was a cub or something!" She chuckled softly, the memory drifting back into her mind. "When I inspected further, I found out it was just a stuffed dog, scruffy and soggy from it's long journey across the sea. Humans must have lost it."
When she had finished he yawned, standing up to stretch and flex each of her legs. The sun was slowly dragging her into a drowsy state, and she was fighting for consciousness at some points.
She allowed herself to plop back on to the soft carpet of grass and other vegetation, eyes half-closed as she basked in the afternoon sun. The fiery ball of orange had just reach the peak of it's regular journey across the sky, and was fully charged upon them. She was so relaxed, she never noticed the cold glare penetrating her from the side.
She jumped, eyes widening with surprise. Was she seeing things? I could of sworn that bear was glaring at me, with actual emotion and life in it's eyes... ______________ words- 202 status- active mood- relaxed, puzzled, surprised comments- i'm so sorry storm for being inactive...):
