Hours After Midnight
[The future of Stroke of Twelve]
A Futuristic Harry Potter RPG

In hindsight, everything began with Harry Potter's death.
Certainly, The Dark Lord Voldemort had been defeated.
No one spoke of him.
Obviously, evil had perished in the fight between light and darkness.
No one spoke of it.
Nearly every courageous wizard and witch who had braved the battlefield and the deatheaters were long gone, and the thought of the bloodshed brought on too many bad memories. What's worse, it reminded everyone who still inhabited the land of the living that their kin was not around to enjoy the life that they had died for.
Was it really worth it? The Wizarding World contemplated this question in remorseful silence.
The Ministry of Magic, too, was silent, but most probably for very different reasons. The doors to the huge building were locked with the strongest charms known to wizard-kind and, to anyone's knowledge, no one had entered or exited for many years.
In a time of poverty and confusion, Hogwarts was the only thing that remained stable. Many people realized this, finding it a safer option for their children than Beauxbatons or even Durmstrang. The year is now 2046 and Hogwarts is flooded with students, more of them than the school has seen in decades. To aid struggling families, the school has extended student tenure to ten years of magical education, allowing older students a place to stay and an opportunity to take more advanced classes.
For many years now, the Wizarding World has stayed silent. Rarely does anyone venture from Hogwarts; students often choose to stay at the school for the entirety of their summer and winter break, away from danger.
Of course, after so many years of peace and quiet, something is bound to go awry.

It is now nine years later, 2055. Hogwarts has remained a stable pillar in the wizarding community.
But the Ministry has re-opened. Its cellars have been scoured clean, yet the Department of Mysteries has remained untouched. No one dares venture down into the rooms that essentially caused the war. No one knows what bids its time down there, waiting to spring. It is said that all the rooms remain, the gruesome experiments and tests still in tact, waiting to be resumed. A few people have complained of strange noises coming from the basement, some others of shrieks or screams.
New leaders are emerging, for both the good and bad. Who knows what will happen in this new future.
