Name: Destiny
Gender: Female
Species: Leopard
Age: 3 years and 7 months
Alliance: Leopard
Rank: Loner
Appearance:
Destiny has a golden honey-brown pelt with dark cinnamon brown spots coating her streamlined body. Her fur is soft and neat, although it is hard to keep it nice because it is so thick. Her fur grows slightly thinner along her spine, head, underbelly, and long, cinnamon-tipped tail. Her fur is even thicker near her powerful hindquarters and neck.
Her irises are a unique golden colored liquid amber that is unlike the other golden-eyed leopards and panthers she sees. Hers are slightly richer and have more complex-looking texture to them. If you are especially intent and looking into her eyes you might be caught off guard as her brilliant eyes suddenly plummeted into the dark, black abyss that is her pupil. Her eyelids and long lashes engulf her amber orbs as she blinks.
Her face is soft, yet wild at the same time. Her ears rest on top of her head, always alert. They have a sharp point and are tipped in cinnamon, much like her tail. Her nose is a pure black, matching the area around her eyes. Her mouth is almost always in a somber, small frown. But, under her frown are moderately sharp teeth, matching her claws almost exactly for sharpness.
She flexes her muscles as she runs from the other cats' gaze. She runs far, afraid to fight, but eager to run. Speed, agility, hunting, and tactics were always her strong points, she was never very strong or good at fighting. Her build is very lithe and certainly meant to be for agile cats.
Personality:
Others see her as pessimistic when, in truth, she is very optimistic. If she was truly pessimistic she would have taken her life by now. Remember how hard life for her is. She has grown used to it. Life through her eyes is very different than yours or mine. Every day is a struggle. Her survival instinct is strong, but she cannot survive on just that. She hopes to one day find happiness, although she denies believing in it. She came to Horizon to find a new place where she could start over, but she cannot bring herself to become part of the small groups. "Death is easy, peaceful. Life is harder." The words from the novel Twilight describe her views on life flawlessly, yet simply.
History:
Her father left her mother almost as soon as they found out Tisha was pregnant. Tisha almost died alone after giving birth to three cubs. Destiny, Hope, and Trinity. All of them were girls. Trinity was born dead, but Tisha felt she should give her a name. Trinity was born last and a runt; most cubs like that don't survive. Hope had survived, although her life was cut short by a large bird that swooped down and impaled her chest. All that was left was Destiny and Tisha. Just them. But their bond was about to be destroyed. Her mother was killed by a larger cat. She had to find somewhere to to escape from the lion, escape life. She had thrown herself into a river, hoping to drown herself. She had wild and vivid dreams from then on of the lion shattering her mother's tiny frame, but all the while she was floating downriver on a log. When she woke she fund herself all alone on the Unexplored Lands. The strange area had a certain pull on her; dragging her forward, closer to it. Was this place a part of her Destiny?
RP Example:
"Momma! Momma!" the cub woke screaming. The same nightmare that had tortured her for the past month or so. A tear escaped her eye and fell to the ground with a soft plunk. She looked to the horizon. She was only a cub, but she had been traveling to a new place, one where you were safer than here. She was just three months old and that lion had killed her mother, Tisha. She stood and forced her bruised paws to go a little further.
Just a little further. Come, Destiny. I hear something. It's the lions, we must go. These were the words that were forever fried into the surface of her brain. These were her mothers last words. But embedded deeper was her mothers death. There on the plain her life had ended. Why couldn't it had been her instead? Her name held the answer. Her mother had whispered the unspoken question. "Destiny," she had whispered. Her eyes stared at something far away. "Trinity. Hope." And a drop of water ran down the side of her face dropping in perfect harmony with Destiny as she fell to the ground. The last piece of her mother. The lion ran while she hid, all alone in the underbrush.
She forced her paws forward. Just a little longer. Then I'll rest. I'll look for something to eat. Just like mother showed me. She had just been weaned when the lions mauled Tisha. It was her second hunting lesson. Her mother had just caught a zebra. That had been her last real meal. Since then she ate things like roots and berries. The scrawny cub detested everything about her new source of food. The only good thing was that they kept her going. Or perhaps that was a bad thing?
A life this hard for one this young. As the gods rolled the dice they had seen death, but found something worse for this cub. Life.
