Name: Kiego
Gender: Male
Species: Cougar
Age: 3 years
Alliance: The Black Lark
Rank: Norm or Normal Ranked.
Appearance:
His pelt is of the foggiest grey, resembling closely the mist that floats above Foggy Ridge territory. His fur is sparse, though it grows longer when winter comes. In some place, especially along his flank, the hair will grow thicker then the rest, giving him a rough, disgruntled look. Most of the fur, however, grows in patterns, looking more thin as it flows up toward his spine and becoming much thicker as it settles around his block-like paws. And, in truth, his paws are rather large. When he was a cub, they used to trip him up, making him very clumsy. But, now he has mastered his liability and uses his strong paws in battle and hunting.
He has queer blue eyes, odd for a cougar but not completely uncommon. It just seems his newborn, cub eyes never changed as he matured, a bit like his personality. They are a bit glazed over, though a playful spark can pass through them and set the orbs ablaze with glee and merriment. They say 'the eyes are a window to the soul'. This applies to him greatly. Unlike other cats, he doesn't do much to hide the truth in his eyes. For this very reason, he simply tells the truth, nothing less.
His bod is lean and packed with brawn. His muscles are a bit scabrous under his flawed pelt, though chiseled round and hard, concealing frail bone underneath masses of power. His tail is long, good enough for balance, and his ears are well-shaped and acute. His snout is short like most cats and his maw is average size. All of this thrown atop each other makes for a desirable-looking cougar, if not all together handsome.
Personality:
In truth, he's not much more then a cub. He loves 'playing' and singing and laughing and grinning and, and... he loves everything! He's a slightly hyperactive fellow, always speaking, jumping, walking. He can never just stay put; he's too jittery! He likes to think everyone is his 'friend', even prey, as much as some would not want to be his friend. He's affable and laughable! He loves making rhymes up on the spot and asking other head-ache-inflicting riddles randomly.
Besides that, he's very possessive of this small bear doll that he found while exploring the jungle, much to the leopard's dislike. He reckons it's from far away and that it was swept into the jungle by the tsunami that occurred years ago. Ragged and bedraggled, he considers it his best friend, often talking to it and laughing at jokes it tells him. He usually carries it on his back or on his tail, for two blue straps make it a sort of backpack that he can wrap around his skinny appendage.
He likes to talk, and talk he does. Even to people who don't really want to talk back. Though he is somewhat an outcast and bullied among The Black Lark for his personality, he still enjoys his life. If his own kind didn't want anything to do with him then he could still converse with the insects all around or the tadpoles in the river or the birds in the trees or Mr. Bear, his best friend. Life's too sweet to judge someone on how they live it. Or, at least, that's his philosophy.
History:
Keigo was born to two loners that thrived on the western side of the mountains. They lived in a rather foresty region of the rocky range with many trees and plants. The trees, however, grew bunched together in clots of greenery. Because of this, the sky was blocked out, and Keigo spent most of his cub-hood in darkness. His eyes were unnaturally strained at a young age. This, though he doesn't really want to admit it, is the reason for his odd eyes.
His parents raised him and, when he became old enough to live on his own, left him, as is the way of the cougar, to survive on his own. He lived as a loner mostly, though he was on good enough terms with The Black Lark to stay there from time to time. But, then something horrendous happened that changed his life forever.
A tsunami struck. Little of the cats speak about the terrible time. Everything was blown awry, and the ocean waters flooded their tiny island. He took refuge in a small hole that he had dug up himself. Unfortunately, he had not made it impenetrable. Water soon flooded in while he tried desperately to dig his way out. It was no use. He was going to die. In a hole. In murky mud water. But, a miracle occurred. A young cougar, trying to get out of the storm tried to dig a hole in that particular spot. He found one of his kind, huddled in the darkest corner of the hole, water up to his neck, his body shaking wildly.
He'd been saved. After thanking the male happily, he fled into lynx territory, just happy to be alive. However, the thought of drowning like that... well, it had taken its toll. The young cougar dreamed and still dreams of the ghastly incident. He waited out the tsunami safely, and, when it was over, he was brave enough to venture out into the open. There, he promptly got lost in jungle territory. But, then he found Mr. Bear! His best friend!
Later, he found out that his parents had been killed in the tsunami, which sent him spiraling into depression which soon turned into insanity. Well, more insane then he was. It was then that he started to speak to Mr. Bear, consulting the small plushy when he had problems. And, the tsunami had left him in a bad state. Not being able to support himself, he joined The Black Lark.
RP Example:
A large silvery tom let out a hateful hiss, "Who are you, scum?" His teeth were bared underneath black lips. Thorin backed up, fixing the cat with an icy stare. "I am Thorin, and this is my daughter, Rihanna. We are just passing by. We hope to do so peacefully." Her father's stance was rigid, though still containing an air of confidence about it. "Then explain that magpie you've caught. You were stealing off our land, you homeless rubbish!" The cat's words were wrought with steely venom. Thorin let out an exasperated sigh of irritation. "We leave you the prey for your Clan, if you just let us pass." "That prey would be ours anyway!" shouted the tom angrily. "You sound like you wish to provoke a fight, kit," said Thorin icily. With a yowl of anger, the silver tom leaped forward along with others. The combined force of their tackle sent Thorin staggering back. He made one wrong move on the river bank and slipped. "Rihanna!" he screamed as he was sent into the thrashing rapids. He struggled upward, trying to find a grip on something, anything. A black kit stood on the bank with a look of terror on her face as she watched her father drown. She wanted to help to save her father, but all she could do was stare in horror as her father took his last breath.
Images flashed in her mind of the murder. She writhed and turned, gasping at them. Yellow and green splotches of light could be seen on the edges of the memory, threatening to consume her in wretched darkness. The memory raced through her mind, burning the scene to her retinas with blazing intensity. With a gasp of agony, she awoke, her breaths coming out in ragged groans. The she-cat jumped up, alert and unaware of consciousness. She had to save him!
Look at me I will never pass for a perfect bride Or a perfect daughter
Realization slowly ebbed its way into her mind, her fur prickling wildly. She lifted her gaze upward. The she-cat's eyes were a piercing green fire of emotions. A celestial gleam brightened them tremendously. They were like the forest leaves in green-leaf, so, so green. She looked around the area, probing it delicately. Tall trees surrounded her, forming a canopy of leaves above. Light rays of sunlight broke though and the trees cast long shadows, darkening the place. Shrubs were lined up along the sides of the small clearing, making it look as if forest just kept on going on forever.
Can it be I'm not meant to play this part?
Better to wander aimlessly then to linger on that... Her thoughts trailed off. Such a horrible nightmare... The she-cat slowly trudged onward, her eyes glowing with anguish and dejection. She noticed her vision was a little fuzzy, as if her mind was still in the dream. She shuddered gently before beginning to break though one of the many shrubs. It's leaves caught on her fur as she barged through, breaking off some of its thin limbs. She finally got through, muttering a few curses of aggravation. She peered at her surroundings, and what she saw made her take a step back in shock.
Now I see That if I were truly To be myself I would break my family's heart
Beyond the leaves of the many shrubs was a clearing. All was of an amazing green, like the she-cat's eyes. Large boulders created an overhang, smoothed by many years of erosion and weathering. Near it were two felled trees, supporting each other into a triangle. A rock guarded the back of the trees, closing it in and making a... cave? But in the center of the brilliant glade was a pond, light blue with clear, clean water, so pure it made the cat shiver. With shaky steps, she moved forward, beholding the water with frantic eyes. The cat stared down into its depths then hissed in astonishment at what she saw.
Who is that girl I see Staring straight Back at me?
In the pool of dazzling water was a black cat with electric eyes that seemed to stab at Rihanna's soul. She was rugged and chiseled with a stony bodice of rock, hard muscle. Though she was a bit small, she had a scary and worthy appearance. Leaves clung to her pelt, and fresh blood shown where the branches had scratched her. She looked tussled as if she had just experienced a life-changing fight and... won. She was someone Rihanna didn't know. So strong. So fierce. She looked nothing like the happy-go-lucky kit she used to be. The cat was fit for immediate battle. So much, that it was scary.
Why is my reflection someone I don't know?
"Who is that?" she whispered in a tremulous, shaken voice. The reflection looked at her with a glimpse of surprise that was on both faces. Hidden in both of their eyes was so many emotions sent array. But mostly, the main emotion that was shown on their faces' was fear. They had changed so quickly into different people. They hadn't even had a choice. That's not me. That can't be me. I'm different. I don't look so tortured. Anxiety stabbed at Rihanna's vision in deep waves of confusion and desire. Desire to change what had become of her.
Somehow I cannot hide Who I am Though I've tried
"What am I?" Her hushed words were filled with a petrified awe at the cat that stood gaping in the waters. In a attempt to mild the bewilderment that flowed through her being like liquid agitation, she backed away but ended up tumbling back and falling over herself.
When will my reflection show Who I am inside?
She flicked glances around the glade, dazed then stood quietly, her eyes gleaming with sorrow and darkness. She watched the waters from a distance before creeping slowly up to them. The same cat stood there, staring at her with barbaric eyes. Vague thoughts rolled through her mind like storm clouds. Then, she spoke quietly so that it was almost inaudible, "My thoughts are dark as is this glade," Her words were hisses. "I name this the Glade of Obscurity." The she-cat knew this must be her home. So hidden and so mysterious. Forces of nature wanted her to claim this land. It harbored secrets of life that were meant for her to find out.
When will my reflection show Who I am inside?
